The stature of the art nouveau tree and geometric figures contrast the freeform Northwest Coast animals (Thunderbird mask, the Wolf/Eagle dress, Sun/Frog scarf and the killer whale pillow) to create the spirit of Posing.

The soft winding vines and geometric figures enhance the sensuality of the raven, cougar, butterflies, moon and salmon.

The stylized tulips and the geometric figures enhance the strong insatiable presence of the bear and the light creative power of the hummingbird.

Indulgence

Posing, Indulgence and Flirtation embrace the artist’s feelings when entering into the world on a social level. The working titles for these pieces were “Martinis”, “Men” and “Magnificent Meals”. Each of the rectilinear boxes encases the human figure/puppet set in front of a mirrored background on a stage.

Puppets Series

Often when we go out to eat, be entertained, or explore, we find ourselves posing, flirting or indulging. These works merge the artist’s iconographic Northwest Coast language of the elements and animals with the social environment and design of today:  art nouveau styles, the geometric marionette and the secret drawer.
