Curling, a flourishing sport in Canada, expanded from a group of friends getting together on the weekend to a highly competitive Olympic sport. 

The Northwest Coast animals encompass the energy of the Bonspiel/Match: the hummingbirds and butterflies are the light-hearted energetic spectators; the otter’s agility guides the first turn of the stone; the strong quick manoeuvring eagle forces the second turn; while the powerful strength of the bear slows the stone to a stop, dead centre.  The match is won.
